Arguably the most stressful week of college thus far has just come to a close.

My uncle described my small town perfectly when he said, "Wayland is the town everybody wants to get out of so that they can try new things before they move back in later in life." College fever has set in, since there is really not much else to do in my town besides think of all the things that we have awaiting for us. Personally, I had the blessing and the curse of an early Orientation date. I enjoy my small town, but after being at Ohio State, where there is always something to do, it was a little tough to see that "Entering Wayland" sign. Wayland is the kind of town where you learn to embrace the little things, since there really aren't that many big things to enjoy. My list of things to do in Wayland is as follows:

1) Ride a bike

2) Go out to get food

3) Play basketball

4) Talk with other Waylandites

5) Go to another town

After seeing that list, it really isn't difficult to see why I am anticipating college so much. I love the town that I grew up in, but there are very few places in town that I haven't seen before. Even the greatest places can grow tiring when you know greatness lies ahead. I assume that a lot of Ohio State students who come from small towns feel this way. I absolutely cannot wait for the transition from nothing to do, to having something to do at any time at Ohio State.

After finally doing the last thing I wanted to do at Rivers Day Camp, my thoughts have shifted heavily towards the fall. This is somewhat of a composition of those thoughts.
