School shopping and packing can wait; I have four more days left at home until I go back to campus and I'm striving to do everything to make sure that my time here is well worth it
The sticky note countdown on my dresser says 4.
And this means that I have four more days until I return to campus and move into my house for my sophomore year of college.
Wait, let me say that one more time so that it can sink in... Michael Haddock is a sophomore. A sophomore in college.
Wow. Time sure does fly fast. But that statement does have a nice ring to it.
Before I headed back up to Ohio, I figured that it was necessary for me to do everything "summer" related one more time. Luckily for my plans, a few of my friends decided to come home for the weekend to spend time with their families and see their school play UCF in football. Even though college football isn't exactly something that you associate with summer time, I was thrilled to add it to my list of adventures. So on Saturday night, the UCF Golden Knights hosted the Samford Bulldogs and all of the pumped college students that followed them into town. Here is a picture of the stadium and my friends and I at the game:
I'm in the middle trying to separate the feud

I think this is where the "Knight in Shining Armor" storms the field?

What could I possibly do to beat the good times of football and hanging out with friends? It took me a while to figure this one out but then I just did what any normal Florida boy would have done and decided to go to the beach. It was probably the best decision I have made all summer; the beach was absolutely gorgeous. Not a cloud in the sky and the sea water was nice and warm. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it because I was concerned that I would get sand in the camera lenses. So you're just going to have to imagine that one for yourself, sorry.
So now I have four days to pack, figure out all of my residency stuff for Ohio, buy school supplies, and establish a college sophomore mindset. Oh man, hopefully these days can go by as fast as possible. Even though I hate school shopping, going to Office Max and seeing the 25 cent notebooks are going to make me so excited to head back to God's country and start a new chapter at OSU.
