I never used to go to sleep after 12 in high school. And I pretty much always used to get up at 5 (?!?!?!) ... things have changed.
I've realized that regardless of how much sleep I get, I function best when I wake up at 8am or later.
Of course, I never could have had this revelation in high school, with classes starting at 7:15am every day--and that meant arriving at school around 6:45 to beat the morning traffic. And that meant getting up at 5am so that I would have time to get ready, eat breakfast, read my Bible, and journal first thing in the morning.
But now, well, life is good. It's amazing what an improvement in your quality of life getting 7 hours of sleep can bring about. And it's also amazing that, well, as much as I tried to convince myself I was a morning person in high school, it seems that I may be more of a night person than I realized. I hit a bump after dinner, for sure, but who doesn't? And here it's approachigg 2am and I'm hopping, feeling delightfully cultured after watching some Scarface as well as Mean Girls for the fourth time.
Aside--can I just plug that movie? If you haven't seen it, you Must with a capital M. At least twice. The parallelism, the dialogue, the brilliant characterizations, the devilry...it's incredible. Tina Fey is a genius!
Anyway, prepare to become more of a night person in college. Anyway, I'm actually off to bed now. Homecoming day tomorrow and I landed a great ticket to the game for free. But I'm not sure if I'm going to go...at least there's brunch in the lobby courtesy of Hall Council. :-) And I'm off to CABS again tomorrow night, so prepare for an epic chronicle of great board game adventures!
