I was in the front seat, shaking it out. And I was asking if you felt alright.

(above lyrics taken from Manchester Orchestra)

Things that seem to be very trendy in college but very not trendy in real life:

  • Sleeping on futons
  • Going to concerts at disgustingly grungy venues
  • Multiple consumption of energy drinks, coffee, and mountain dew all within an hour
  • Wearing cowboy boots in the summer
  • Shark week
  • True Blood
  • Chocolate milk

I just finished taking my last final and grades are already pouring in. I received a solid B in my Comm 101 class which I’m actually incredibly pleased with considering I didn’t do too stellar on the tests. But what I lack in test taking I make up for in writing, so it was nice that my Comm 101 class had a mixture of both. For those of you planning on taking Comm 101 sometime in the future I’m going to shamelessly plug Professor McDonald right now. Wonderful professor, wonderful guy. If you have the chance you should try to take Comm 101 with him.

I thought I did well on my Statistics exam, but the grade for that is not in yet. And considering I stayed up all night the night beforehand studying for it I can’t help but wonder if I actually did take the test or if I just dreamt that I did. Unfortunately you would be surprised how often this happens to me.

And my Comm 200 final today went incredibly well. I’m confident that I scraped at least a B+.

All things considered this summer has been a definite success. To celebrate I went to Giant Eagle after my exam and bought raw pie crust. I am now sitting on my couch eating it and watching Hannah Montana. If that’s not trendy and awesome I don’t know what is.

Another thing that was a success for the first time ever in my college career was scheduling for classes. I’m double majoring in English and Strategic Communication, and my advisor recommended that I take more English classes in the fall since English is my stronger suit and easier to complete. That way I can get my GPA up and then finish my communication degree my Senior year. I read and I write anyway, and now I can do it for an actual grade. This excites me.

Even though I mentioned it previously I feel like I need to say it again;  this summer was a great success.

However, the most exciting thing that happened to me this summer happened today. I like to stay up all night, go to class and then come back and nap. So most weekdays around 5:30 in the morning I go to the 7-11 by my apartment to get a cup of coffee for 75 cents. And most days the same guy is working cashier. Now up until this time we have only exchanged pleasantries. Which is a shame because he's pretty cute. Well today I went to 7-11 at my normal time and he was working cashier as always. But today he was wearing a Winston Audio shirt. Winston Audio is a band that I accidentally ended up seeing at a concert the previous weekend and also ended up really liking. I commented on his shirt and told him I liked the band. We had a really nice conversation and he ended up giving me my coffee for free. This was very exciting for me. I always see it happen in movies and read it in books, but it actually happened to me in real life! Which is super exciting.

It's okay if you think I'm really lame right now. I am really lame.  But also still really excited over this.

Also. I want doughnuts. 400 doughnuts.

Re: And I felt love, again.

You need to good to bed sometime during the night. Day sleep and energy drinks eventually will not replace rest at night.

Re: And I felt love, again.

Keep being college trendy by staying up all night and relying on coffee. It's what me and all the cool kids do... notice I didn't put myself IN the cool kids category lol
