I remember throwing out all of your things

But I think I kept my ring.

(lyrics taken from the brilliant William Fitzsimmons)

Today a giant power line broke on Lane Avenue. So my entire apartment complex has no power. And it is not expected to go back on in quite awhile. The only reason this is bad is because no power means no microwave which means no food for me. And I am too lazy to walk all the way to High Street to get food. This is a very problematic situation for me.

That being said, if anyone wants to bring a free meal to me at Riverwatch Tower within the next hour that would be much appreciated. And If I happen to die of starvation...well....it’s probably your fault for not feeding me.

Today in my Statistics Lab we got our last midterm back. I thought I did very poorly on it and I was kind of scared to look at my test for fear that it would ruin my day. So I left it face down on my desk all through Lab, and then I folded it in half without looking at it and went to lunch with some friends.

Finally I got back to my apartment. My electricity was already off, and I was hungry and I figured that my day could not possibly get any worse so I decided to unfold my test and see what damage I had done to my grade.

Surprisingly, none.

I got 2 points above average. Which isn’t spectacular. But it’s definitely good. So my day actually improved and I decided to reward myself an entire can of spray cheese and box of ritz crackers.

The reason I felt compelled to share that with you is because that very rarely happens to me. Usually I think I do really well on a test and end up doing terribly. So this was a very exciting moment in my summer.

I love almost everything about OSU. But one thing I don’t really like is how you can’t get an A+. I know that this is the case in most colleges, but it also means that I’m only striving to get a 93 percent, whereas in high school I was striving to get a 98 percent.

Another exciting thing about this week was that I finally found employment. I now have a job and a bunch of hours at the Victoria’s Secret in Easton. For $7.85 an hour and 30% I figured that this was a pretty good deal.

The best thing about this job is that it does not involve food or music from the 60’s. Having worked at Johnny Rockets for the better part of 4 years I have kind of grown to hate hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and any song that contains the phrase “love shack.”

And let’s face it, when it comes to choosing between hamburgers and lingerie, you choose lingerie every time.
