I don’t know what to attribute it to. Change isn’t always good, but it’s always exciting in one way, shape, or form. This quarter just feels right so far, despite all the things that would normally suck.
For example, rain usually crushes me. It takes the deepest drives to even get out of bed or do anything remotely productive when it rains. However, the lousy weather these past few days has uncharacteristically hardly “dampened” (harhar) my spirits. Additionally, as much as it pains me every Mon, Wed, Fri to crraaawwwllll out of bed at 6:30 to make it to my 8AM bio lecture, getting an early start on the day leaves me with plenty of time to work, work out, study, chillax. Furthermore, deciding to live on 4th sounded like suicide at the time. Granted, I have yet to bear any very horrible weather, winter, etc., but I have found that living farther from campus leads me to appreciate it more when I do head that way. When I bike, it’s literally a straight coast down 15th right to the heart of campus. I also like walking to and from class down High St. The extra few minutes just means a few more minutes to jam and a few more calories burned every day. However, when biking or walking are impractical, I have been definitely been taking advantage of the CABS East Residential line, which drops off at 13th and 4th and picks up at 15th and Summit, both within one block of my house. This is a real time, energy, and potentially, life saver. I take it to class, home from the RPAC, and most importantly, home from work at midnight.
Even my classes are ok. True, bio isn’t my best friend, but I’m confident I can tackle it if I put in half as much effort as I did in math 151 last fall (I shudder at the memory). My anthro 304 class, the living primates, on the other hand, is already way cool. I am such a nerd; I was actually grinning ear to ear at points during our first lecture. Monkeys are so much more interesting/ awesome than everyone thinks they are. Then my other two classes are just bopping and dancing around. Exercise always feels good…even when it feels bad.
Stuff’s lookin’ up! Been jammin' to some great tunes recently. Been enjoying my job (more or less). Been socializing now that people actually live in Columbus. Maybe I’m just glad to have a million things to do after my swamp of a summer. Whatever the reason, hopefully I can maintain the positive attitude and ride it all the way into December!
GO BUCKS!
